Linda Fleisher, PhD, MPH, Co-Investigator; Self-Management Education for Childhood Cancer Survivors

Linda Fleisher, PhD, MPH, is Co-Investigator on the UPenn PRC Self-Management for Childhood Cancer Survivors Project. Dr. Fleisher is an Associate Professor at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and was previously a Senior Scientist at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which she joined in 2013 to lead its Digital Health Initiative. In recent years, Dr. Fleisher has focused much of her programmatic and research efforts on Digital Health --from design, user testing, and usability to implementation and evaluation-- and she has contributed to a number of web and mobile health research studies. Dr. Fleisher's research has bridged the fields of health communications and public health, with an emphasis on consumer informatics, health disparities, health education/communication interventions, and community-participatory and dissemination research. She has a particular interest in health literacy and informed consent and has developed a number of easy reading materials, co-authored the Practical Guide to Informed Consent, and directed a Pfizer-funded project to train health care organizations to better understand the health literacy needs of their patients. She received her MPH and PhD from Temple University.
