Dava Szalda, MD, Co-Investigator; Self-Management Education for Childhood Cancer Survivors

Dava Szalda, MD, MSHP, is Co-Investigator on the UPenn PRC Self-Management for Childhood Cancer Survivors Project. Dr. Szalda is an Instructor in the Division of Pediatric Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and sees adult survivors of childhood cancer as an internist in the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn. Dr. Szalda's clinical and research program focuses on the care and health outcomes of survivors of pediatric cancer including engagement with adult healthcare, transitions to adult care and innovations in care delivery for this population.

Dr. Szalda received a BS from Syracuse University (2003) and her MD from SUNY Stony Brook (2007). She then came to Penn/CHOP and completed 4 years of a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program and an additional year as a Chief Resident in this program. Following this, Dr. Szalda completed Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She concurrently completed a Masters of Health Policy degree from Penn.
